VIRTUAL BEHAVIOURAL MEDICINE PROGRAM (VBM)

The VBM program is a collaboration between the Sam and Ida Ross Memory Clinic at Baycrest, and the Toronto Central Behavioural Support for Seniors Program (TC-BSSP). It is an escalation option for clients with unmanaged behaviours, with medication recommendations provided in a virtual setting, as a short term consultation service.

We are excited to announce that the Virtual Behavioural Medicine (VBM) program and the Centralized Access to Seniors Specialty Hospital Beds (CASS) have now combined access to specialized behavioural services under one centralized referral package/form. This update will be released widely to referral partners starting Tuesday January 14, 2025.
Moving forward, the Toronto Region Behaviour Supports Coordinating Office will be responsible for the receipt of all VBM/CASS applications related to:

  • Baycrest VBM
  • Toronto Rehab VBM
  • Baycrest Behavioural Neurology
  • Toronto Rehab’s Specialized Dementia Unit

Please note, this change does not affect the current referral process for Baycrest Inpatient Psychiatry. Referrals for this program will continue to follow the existing process and use the old referral form, as before.
