Organization: Across Boundaries - An Ethnoracial Mental Health Centre
Description of Services: Weekly programs where a therapist leads the group in playing instruments, singing and drawing * program is influenced by the multi-ethnic background of the patients and staff exploring all of the benefits that music can offer * Participants engage in activities such as:
  • playing accessible percussion and melodic instruments
  • group singing and vocal expression
  • guided drawing and art-making sessions inspired by music

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Individuals 16 years or age and older with severe mental problems and addictions * focuses on visible minorities * resident of the Greater Toronto Area
Application: Self referral * referrals from family members, healthcare and social service workers, religious establishments * to make a referral download the referral access form on the website * referrals will be assessed in a interview to determine eligibility for services
