Program: Community Crisis Programs: Regional and Mobile

Organization: Scarborough Health Network - Birchmount Site
Description of Services: Hospital Crisis Program: Supports to individuals who arrive at the hospital’s Birchmount, Centenary and General's Emergency Department. A crisis worker is available on site 24/7 to provide assistance for individuals experiencing an emotional or psychiatric crisis. The program’s services are extended to all Scarborough residents.

Community Crisis Program: For individuals who are 16 years or older and who are experiencing mental health symptoms, including feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or anxiety. Services include 24/7 telephone support, crisis de-escalation, safety and crisis planning, mental health assessments and referral to appropriate community resources.

Mobile Crisis Intervention Team: A collaboration between SHN and the Toronto Police Services, this program provides community crisis response to individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Access through 911.
