Program: Children and Youth Health/ Wellness Programs

Organization: Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities
Description of Services: Provides a range of holistic health programs, projects, volunteer opportunities, events and workshops for children ages 6 to 12 and youth ages 13 to 18. Programs include:
  • MSYL: Youth-led council planning and facilitating all programs, initiatives and events
  • GLTR: Female-identifying youth support group
  • Deep Talks: Male-identifying youth support group
  • CHEF: Health and nutrition focused cooking classes
  • Neighbourhood Games: Youth-led recreational games and activities
  • HARTS (Healthy Arts): Arts and crafts program for children ages 6-10. Children learn how to express themselves through the therapeutic benefits of art. 
  • LYFT (Limitless Youth Fitness Training): Free youth group fitness classes for youth ages 13 -18. Program is led by certified personal trainer.
  • Youth Drop In: Weekly program that provides a safe space for youth ages 13 - 18 to interact with staff and their peers in positive and meaningful ways. Youth pick from an array of activities such as: documentaries, movies, board games, cards and group discussions
